Alfresco Concert Tour – Bandon, OR

Concerts with Purpose

Majority of profits from this event will be used to protect and preserve three acres of an old-growth coastal rainforest located in Bandon, OR. Tye Austin is currently fostering the land to host musical concerts, summer music/surf camps, wilderness survival demonstrations, sweat lodge ceremonies, and healing retreats. Once the land has been re-zoned, guests will be able to campout in tents, tipis, yurts, and treehouses. As a first-generation landlord of Spanish, French & Native American descent, Tye plans to gift his entire property to the Coquille Restoration Act (CRA) of 1989 in his will. The CRA is a US legislative effort to restore land to the native tribe who formerly inhabited the Bandon area.

Artist Biography:

Hailed by NBC News for making “…the guitar sing like it was invented only to be in his hands,” native Oregonian Tye Austin (age 32) has performed solo all over the world from NYC’s Carnegie Hall to London’s Royal Albert Hall, Spain’s Albaicin Theaters, and Shanghai’s Lidoway. In 2017, he was invited to perform for over three-hundred world leaders at the United Nations Headquarters. He has won multiple international music competitions such as NYC’s American Protege 2013 and London’s Grand Prize Virtuoso 2016. Austin has been interviewed by NBC News, National Public Radio, Boston Guardian, and Psychology Today. He received his Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of maestro Eliot Fisk. He furthered his guitar studies with Sharon Isbin, chair of guitar studies at The Juilliard School. In 2015, Austin moved to Spain to study flamenco guitar with David Martinez, chair of guitar studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada. His debut album, Andalusia: Spanish Guitar Music, was released in 2017 and is available to stream on his website. As a prodigious composer with over 200 works to his name, Austin aims to expand the guitar’s solo and chamber music repertoire. Joining Austin on stage will be a new string quartet comprised of musicians from the Newport Symphony. Sample one of Austin’s chamber works below or visit for more information.
