Join us for an Acoustic Alfresco Concert, featuring award-winning guitar virtuoso, Tye Austin. This is a revolutionary outdoor entertainment experience that aims to bring people, high art, and culture back to nature. The events will be held at a natural hot spring in the Umpqua National Forest every weekend in November and December, 2022. Mycology tours start at 9am each morning, the concert begins at 3pm. Guests will meet at the Toketee Falls Trailhead in Idleyld Park, Oregon (approximately 2 hours southeast of Eugene | 2 hours southwest of Bend | 2 hours northeast of Medford).

Each day will begin with a morning yoga session, followed by a guided mushroom hunting tour and waterfall hike. Afterward, guests will set up camp nearby a natural hot spring. While guests relax at the hot springs, a gourmet chef will cook us dinner using wild ingredients foraged the same day. The concert will begin once dinner is served. Guests may camp out overnight in their own tent, van, over-land rig, or RV. Private cabins and hot springs are available for an additional fee.

Hailed by NBC News for making “…the guitar sing like it was invented only to be in his hands,” native Oregonian Tye Austin (age 33) has performed solo all over the world from NYC’s Carnegie Hall to London’s Royal Albert Hall, Spain’s Albaicin Caves, and Shanghai’s Lidoway. In 2017, he was invited to perform for over three-hundred world leaders at the United Nations Headquarters. He has won multiple international music competitions such as NYC’s American Protege 2013 and London’s Grand Prize Virtuoso 2016. Austin has been interviewed by NBC News, National Public Radio, Boston Guardian, and Psychology Today. He received his Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of maestro Eliot Fisk. He furthered his guitar studies with Sharon Isbin, head of guitar studies at The Juilliard School. In 2015, Austin moved to Spain to study flamenco guitar with David Martinez, head of guitar studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada. Austin’s debut album, Andalusia: Spanish Guitar Music, was released in 2017 and is available to stream on his website. Join us for our sophomore Acoustic Alfresco Concert, featuring award-winning guitar virtuoso, Tye Austin (www.tyeaustin.com), and string players from the Oregon Symphony Orchestra. This is a revolutionary outdoor entertainment experience that aims to bring people, high art, and culture back to nature. The concerts will be held at natural hot springs on the Columbia River Gorge on September 22, 2022 and the McKenzie River on September 23-25, 2022. All events start at 8am each morning, the music begins at 5pm. 

Guests will meet at the Home Valley Store on the Columbia River Gorge in Carson, WA (app. 51 miles east of Portland) on September 22 at 8am. Guests will meet at Blue Sky Market in Blue River, OR (app. 50 miles east of Eugene) on September 23, 24 & 25 at 8am. All days will begin with a morning yoga session, followed by salmon fishing and mushroom hunting. Afterward, guests will kayak, paddle board, or hike calm sections of both the Wind and McKenzie Rivers respectively. All days will end at a natural hot spring where a chef will cook us a salmon/wild mushroom dinner by campfire. The music will begin once everyone is fed and relaxing in the hot spring. After the concert, guests may camp out overnight in their own tent, van, over-land rig, or RV. Private cabins and hot springs are available for an additional fee.

Concerts with Purpose

Majority of profits from this event will be used to establish the Ferry Creek Land Trust in order to protect and preserve the native coastal habitat located outside of Bandon, OR. As a first-generation landlord of Spanish, French & Native American descent, Tye Austin is currently fostering the land to host musical concerts, mushroom therapy sessions, sweat lodge ceremonies, wilderness survival demonstrations, surf camps, and healing retreats. Once enough land is acquired, Tye will re-zone the area into a state campground complete with tent sites, tipis, yurts, and treehouses. He plans to gift his entire property to the Coquille Tribe Restoration Act of 1989 in his will, a legislative effort to restore native land to the tribe who originally inhabited the area.

About this Event

Join us for Bandon’s premiere Alfresco Concert Tour, featuring award-winning guitar virtuoso, Tye Austin (www.tyeaustin.com), and the Tidal String Quartet from the Newport Symphony. This is a revolutionary outdoor entertainment experience that aims to bring people, high art, and culture back to nature. The concerts will be held at the founder’s off-grid property in Bandon, OR on August 5 & 6, 2022 at 7pm and August 7, 2022 at 3pm. This is a family and pet-friendly event. Cartoons and video games will be available for children. Fuel, snacks, and camping supplies can be purchased at a variety of stores in Old Town Bandon.

Directions

Guests will meet at Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint at 12pm on August 5 & 6, 2022, and at 9am on August 7, 2022. From HWY 101, head west on Seabird Dr, turn right on Beach Loop Rd, turn left into parking lot at Face Rock. From Old Town Bandon, head west on 1st St SE, follow the curve left onto Edison Ave SW, turn right on 4th Street SW, follow the curve left onto Ocean Dr SW, follow the curve left onto Beach Loop Rd, turn right into the parking lot at Face Rock.

Tickets

Tickets include live music, dinner, drinks, campsite reservation, yoga/tai chi lesson, surfing lesson (board and wetsuit included), guided mushroom tour, and an agate beach walking tour. Guests may also choose to purchase concert tickets only for each tour date. Alternatively, guests may book a private Alfresco Concert for 1-15 people on any date that isn’t a prescheduled tour date. Sports & Recreation Lessons

Certified yoga instructors from Mossy Lotus Yoga in Coos Bay will be teaching yoga and tai chi lessons on the beach at Face Rock. A local surf shop will have instructors, certified in CPR and first aid, teaching surf lessons at Face Rock. Surfboard and wetsuit rentals are included. After beach activities, a trained mycologist will be leading a gourmet mushroom tour through the rainforest targeting chanterelle & lobster mushrooms.

Lodging

Guests will camp at Bullard’s Beach Campground. Guests may camp in their own tent, van, overland rig, or RV. Alternatively, private teepees, yurts, and beachfront cottages are also available for an additional fee.

Food & Drink

Gourmet chefs will prepare meals using fresh-caught salmon, crab, oysters, chanterelle & lobster mushrooms, dandelion greens, and other wild edibles sourced locally. Sommeliers will be pouring Oregon wines and bartenders will be mixing alcoholic elixirs with wild ingredients. Guests who purchase a concert ticket only may bring their own food and drinks.

Restrooms

Public restrooms and hot showers will be available at the campground only. There are no public restrooms onsite at the concert location. Please use the restroom before attending the concert portion of the event.

Dogs

Leashed dogs and other pets are welcome to attend the event granted they don’t bark, fight, or disturb other guests and their pet(s).

Cell Coverage

Cell coverage on rural roads and remote locations is unpredictable and you may not have a signal. Please print or download directions before you leave.

Extreme Weather Conditions/ Cancellations

This is a rain or shine event. We encourage guests to bring rain and heat protection gear as needed. In the case of extreme weather or poor air quality due to wildfire smoke, ACT will cancel by 9am on the day the event and notify all ticketed patrons. Pre-paid ticket deposits may be used for a future ACT date.

Spanish Guitar Concert in the Wild

Join us for the premiere Alfresco Concert Tour, featuring award-winning guitar virtuoso, Tye Austin (www.tyeaustin.com). This is a revolutionary outdoor entertainment experience that aims to bring people, high art, and culture back to nature. The concert will be held at a secret hot spring located near North Umpqua River on the summer solstice, June 21, 2022 at 4pm. 

Guests will meet at Toketee Falls trailhead in Idleyld Park, OR, (1 hour east of Roseburg, OR | 2 hours north of Medford, OR | 2 hours southwest of Bend, OR). We will go for a short meet & greet hike to the falls (0.9 miles out and back). After the hike, guests will set up camp near the hot springs. Guests may camp in their own tent, van, overland rig, or RV. Meanwhile, gourmet chefs will build a campfire to cook dinner using fresh-caught summer steelhead, grouse, elk, morel mushrooms, and other wild edible plants. The concert will begin at 7:30pm once dinner has been served. Guests may join a guided hike to the hot springs (0.8 miles out and back) after the concert. 

Both hiking trails are relatively flat and have nice staircases and handrails for the uphill sections. There will be three wilderness guides to assist guests if necessary. Back at camp, we will have kayaks, fishing poles, and an archery range with traditional bows & arrows for guests to use at Toketee Lake. This is a family and pet-friendly event. Cartoons and video games will be available for children. 

Tickets include live music concert, dinner, drinks, two guided hikes, and a campsite reservation. Luxury log cabins are also available for an additional fee. Fuel, beer, sunscreen, bug spray, and snack food can be purchased at Dry Creek Market (15 minutes west of Toketee Falls) and Diamond Lake Resort (25 minutes east of Toketee Falls). Tye and his team will be steelhead fishing and grouse hunting for the wild chefs without cell phone service until the event begins on June 21.
