Lagrima – Francisco Tarrega

Watch classical guitarist & composer, Tye Austin perform Francisco Tarrega’s Lagrima (Teardrop) in front of Big Ben, Westminster Palace, and the Waterloo Bridge in London, UK. Tarrega composed this work during a spell of homesickness during his first concert tour in England. Tye filmed this video during his first concert tour in England, where he debuted at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. During Tye’s flamenco guitar studies in Spain, he also visited Tarrega’s birthplace in Villa-Real, and he learned to play Tarrega’s famous tremolo work, Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Memories of the Alhambra), while overlooking the Alhambra Palace from his rooftop terrace in Granada, Spain. Tye’s favorite composers are Tarrega and Paraguayan virtuoso, Agustin Barrios Mangore. Barrios once said, “Without Tarrega, we wouldn’t be.”
